It doesnt come with any sponges so I bought the blue medium one for initial compunding which got the orange peel out great when used with G3, then used this red softer one with the less abrasive G10 and it worked brilliantly.<br/><br/>So far Ive compounded not only the bonnet and wing, but decided to treat the rest of the car as well, and this sponge is still going strong. Its had a few hours of use now and doesnt show any signs of wearing yet.<br/><br/>I know Silverline are at the cheaper end of the market and probably wouldnt last long in a professional body shop but they are great for the DIY use that I put it to. Theyre cheap but pretty substantial. I bought the Silverline polisher to correct some of my dodgy painting on the wing and bonnet of my Porsche 944 that I’d done with aerosols. It doesnt come with any sponges so I bought the blue medium one for initial compunding which got the orange peel out great when used with G3, then used this red softer one with the less abrasive G10 and it worked brilliantly.

So far Ive compounded not only the bonnet and wing, but decided to treat the rest of the car as well, and this sponge is still going strong. Its had a few hours of use now and doesnt show any signs of wearing yet.

I know Silverline are at the cheaper end of the market and probably wouldnt last long in a professional body shop but they are great for the DIY use that I put it to. Fast delivery. Appears to be a well made T/Wrench. I chose Draper semi-professional tools as Draper is a well known name (hope I have not been mislead into buying a “good” name? It's a little fiddly to wind in the hose after use, however this didn't overall reduce our satisfaction, so would still rate this 5*. We only have one other pressure washer to compare this too, one that we bought from Halfords - after 1.5hrs of use the motor broke (we returned it the same day with no issues). We've been using pressure washer detergent from Halfords, no probs with that either.<br/><br/>We bought this item refurbished a few weeks ago for one hundred & fifty pounds including free delivery, though not from Amazon. I'd say it's well worth up to two hundred. Kercher seem to lead the market but IMO are overpriced. We’ve had a test run for around 4-5hours non-stop cleaning a patio (with around 30years of dirt) followed by 4 cars, including a brand new one. Well, i say “we”, my husband seems to enjoy this new man-toy and i don’t get much of a look in. Definitely pleased with a purchase that encourages him to wash the cars…

One improvement we’d like to see: a better design for the hose/reel. It’s a little fiddly to wind in the hose after use, however this didn’t overall reduce our satisfaction, so would still rate this 5*. We only have one other pressure washer to compare this too, one that we bought from Halfords – after 1.5hrs of use the motor broke (we returned it the same day with no issues). It is inevitable that at some stage, the hose will split. Beacause of the hose coiling up, it often results in pulling the upright machine over and being very heavy at some time the case and contents are going to break.<br/>A problem has just arisen, which I was surprised to learn from one of Nilfisk's recommended UK service dealers is a common fault. The spray gun, after little use, started to leak at the handle and switched itself on and off by itself. You will see this fault described in the troubleshooting section of the handbook, it recommends contacting the nearest service dealer. The service representative immediately identified the fault before I finished telling him, he said it was either the O ring in the valve of the handle or the L shaped plastic lead to the hose, in either case it was necessary to buy a new spray handle at around £34-00 plus p&p. Having researched this product together with over manufacturers washers, I came to the opinion that the Nilfisk e140 was the best at the price.
I read all the reviews on Amazon UK and US as well as reviews from other distributors and their conclusions were unanimously in favor of the Nilfisk product.
The leading name in pressure washers is of course Karcher, however the main criticisms were that it was poorly made resulting in broken parts and messy returns and repairs.
Having made the decision to purchase the Nilfisk e140 and after just one year of light use, I am disappointed with the product.
As many here have commented, the rigid hose is a nightmare to reel both out and in, it’s natural tendency is to coil up on itself making it time consuming and hard work to reel in. It is inevitable that at some stage, the hose will split. Just purchased this pressure washer and used it in anger for the first time this weekend to clean the car and garden patio, this is very powerful and a lot more substantial than my previous karcher model.It took me a lot less time to clean the patio than in recent years thanks to the power of this washer and the rotating head which is part of this set, packs away compactly with its own bracket for storing on the wall keeping it off the garage floor – very useful.The only minus point is the hose reel and the hose itself, the reel handle is plastic and keeps coming off when rewinding the hose back onto its reel, and the hose is of the rigid plastic variety which kinks very easily and is hard to keep from coiling back on its self. Bar this detail it would have received the full 5 stars, minor issue on an otherwise excellent product.
